Ben & Leigh’s Engagement Session Part One: Atlanta Beltline!

filed in:

It’s so surreal photographing my brother’s engagement session because I remember him as a little boy. I have so many memories of him in the back seat of our family van singing “ABC Cars” (his favorite made-up tune!), getting covered in red Georgia clay at my softball tournaments, and running around our house trying to escape my tickling fingers! We used to play a game where my sister and I would hold Ben and my other brother David down on the ground. We’d tickle them as they squirmed to get away, all of us laughing so hard that our bellies hurt. That’s one of my favorite memories being their sister!

Well last October, Ben asked Leigh to be his forever, and my little brother grew up to be an incredible man.

Preparing for their engagement session, Ben, Leigh and I talked about all of their favorite places to go together! I love shooting in locations that bring out the essence of my couples, so when Leigh said that they were two equal parts Atlanta & the outdoors, we decided we had to have not just one, but TWO sessions (perks of a photographer sister, right?)!

We decided on the Beltline for part one!

They both love Atlanta, but it will forever hold Leigh’s heart. She graduated from SCAD in Atlanta and instantly fell in love with the city around her (I mean, how can you not love Atlanta??).

We met near Piedmont Park and walked to Ponce City Market, taking photos along the way. I just love the Beltline and all the people you come across, but also the art and culture that Atlanta has to offer. We had so much fun dancing in front of murals, walking between all of the roller skaters, and at the end, enjoying some King of Pops to cool off after our walk!

This is just part one! I’m so excited for part two later this month where we’ll be going to…Cloudland Canyon!! Get ready for some waterfalls and gorgeous views, my friends!
