Kelley & Joseph | Christ the King & DeKalb-Peachtree (PDK) Airport Wedding

Oh friends, do I have a gorgeous wedding for you today!

This wedding has quickly become one of my personal favorites! I had the pleasure of photographing Kelley & Joseph’s ceremony at Christ the King Cathedral in Atlanta and their reception at DeKalb-Peachtree Airport (also known as PDK). It was the first cool afternoon of Fall in Georgia, and that was a sign that the rest of the day would be complete perfection! Everything was designed flawlessly by Jamie of Sweetwood Creative Co., and I think my little photographer heart died from all of the creative beauty! Also, their getaway vehicle was a HELICOPTER. Yeah, we were all obsessed!

My jaw was on the floor the minute I walked into the reception!

Kelley chose to mix her traditional Catholic ceremony with a fun, modern reception in an airplane hangar! I ADORED that! The simple, minimal design was lovely and thoughtful. With hanging chandeliers of silver dollar eucalyptus and the most instagrammable gifts table I’ve ever seen, my jaw was on the floor the minute I walked into the reception! Everything fit seamlessly together. They were so intentional to create an atmosphere that inspired their guests to have the time of their lives. They even had late night donuts for their guests to snack on on their way home!

But nothing could match how beautiful Kelley looked in her wedding dresses (she had TWO!), ad the smile on Joseph’s face each time he looked at her was my favorite part.

If it wasn’t evident enough to everyone in attendance at their ceremony, Kelley and Joseph are not just gorgeous, they’re GOOD people. And they were raised by good people. As Kelley’s father, Anthony, began his toast, he took a moment to thank everyone for being there. And I mean everyone. Not just the guests. He personally thanked – and led an applause for – the bartenders, DJ, caterer, wedding planner and her team, and me. And he mentioned us by name. We work behind the scenes at weddings every week, and we do it because we love what we do! Sometimes it’s not glamorous. Sometimes it’s the best night of our lives! And being thanked for serving them on their wedding day was so thoughtful. It spoke volumes to the character of Kelley and Joseph, their family and their friends. I was so honored!

Kelley and Joseph, y’all are the real deal. I have been looking forward to your wedding day for so long, and I’m so happy that it arrived and was celebrated in such style! You two are so kind and joyful! Joseph, even though you weren’t too ecstatic about photos before, I loved getting to know you more and witnessing how much you love Kelley. Kelley, I loved getting to know you again after all these years have gone by since high school! You are such a beauty! Thank you both for asking me to photograph your wedding day! I hope you love these photos as much as I loved capturing them for you!

This is where I love sharing recent weddings and sessions, my travels, and life with my husband, and our three pets. When I'm not capturing a wedding day, I'm often enjoying the outdoors with Garrett, playing with our pups, or finding a new place to call home for the weekend. My passion is telling love stories, and I hope I get to fall in love with telling yours.

Let's meet!
