In her matron of honor toast, Joanna’s sister, Christianna, said “Joanna is the passionate one, full of life that people are drawn to.” I’m paraphrasing, of course, but her words hold so much truth! All throughout the day, as I looked at all of their guests, it’s so easy to see how Joanna is loved by so many…including her new husband Mark.
As we prepared for the day, Joanna and her ladies got ready together while Mark and his men did the same. Each one waited in anticipation for the moment they could see each other. Take it all in, breathe. Because when it’s your wedding day, don’t you want to spend all of it with your best friend?
The minutes ticked away.
Joanna’s mom and sister helped her into her blush and lace dress while her flower girls played in her shoes. And her dad helped me and my second shooter, Heather, on the keeping up with the guy’s ETA (seriously, Mr. Bruno was so helpful keeping us on schedule!) This wedding was a labor of love, and the community that came together was beautiful.
We did things a little different this time. Instead of immediately turning around to see Joanna, they remained back-to-back and exchanged letters they had written to each other for their wedding day. Close enough to touch, they read their letters and the emotion for what was about to take place continued to build…and then Joanna walked back up to Mark and turned him around…
I can’t even begin to describe the look on Mark’s face (you’ll just have to scroll down and see for yourself!), but it made me tear up as I edited their heartfelt moment!
The rest of the day was a beautiful blur of memories being made, and I’m so honored each time I get the opportunity to capture them for my couples!
However, none of this day would have been possible without the help of so many vendors that did such a beautiful job serving these two!
