Lyndsey & Taylor said “I do” at The Chimneys at Big Canoe in the North Georgia Mountains. It all started a short time ago when they met at BCM (Baptist Collegiate Ministries) at the University of North Georgia. Fun fact? When they first met, Taylor actually gave Lyndsey a concussion!! That’s one way to leave an impression on someone, and you could say that Lyndsey fell head over heels…right?! (Okay, I know…super cheesy)
If you know Taylor, then you know he has a charismatic super power: he can injure a gorgeous girl and still get her to go out with him! After their first date seeing the Hunger Games and eating at The Varsity, the rest was history. Like all great love stories, they fell in love and quickly realized that they didn’t want to spend another moment apart.
Taylor knew Lyndsey was the one, and now it was time to make that official. He knew that Lyndsey, being a wedding photographer herself, wanted something different. She wanted something intimate, romantic and not at all in the limelight (sounds like someone I know…). So Taylor schemed and found an excuse to bring Lyndsey out to his family’s property in Fayetteville. Lyndsey thought nothing of it!
As they were “checking the property” (Taylor had convinced Lyndsey that was the reason why they were out by his family’s pond) Taylor mentioned that he should check the dock, as well. You know, just to make sure everything was in order. They walked down together, but since it was a chilly evening, Taylor went back to the truck to get Lyndsey’s sweater…and the little box that held something special.
“It looks like everything’s in order,” Taylor said, “accept one thing…”
“And what’s that?” Lyndsey was still unaware of what was about to happen!
She turns to look at Taylor, and he’s down on one knee with the most beautiful ring she had ever seen!
Their wedding day arrived with beautiful weather on the most perfect Sunday you could imagine. While Georgia in early September is most often HOT, thanks to Hurricane Harvey and Irma making their way to North Georgia the next day (no joke, y’all), we were fortunate to have a cool breeze and low humidity.
Lyndsey and her closest friends arrived at The Chimneys relaxed and with joy written all over their faces. It was going to be a great day! As we photographed her details and jewelry (Lyndsey made her invitations herself, you guys!), Lyndsey and her bridesmaids got ready. Soon, it was time to see the man she would marry.
Lyndsey and Taylor chose to write each other vows, and true to their style, they wanted to read them to each other in private. In her flowing dress with her Catholic and lace veil trailing behind her, in a moss patch in the middle of the woods, Lyndsey walked up to Taylor. He saw her and immediately exclaimed “How did I get to be so lucky?!” Pure joy!
The rest of the day was intimate and so genuine! They celebrated with a small brunch following the ceremony (they had guacamole!!!), danced their first dance, and visited with those closest to them.
After their bubble exit from The Chimneys, we all rode together over to the Clubhouse at Big Canoe for some bride and groom portraits! These views are incredible, and we definitely didn’t want to miss out on some time here! (Ending with bride and groom portraits was so fun and added so much to the day. I’d recommend that to any bride and groom having an early wedding!)
Thank you from the bottom of my heart! I enjoyed every moment of your day, and getting to know you both over the course of your engagement has been so much fun! Those engagement photos at Arabia Mountain will always be some of my favorites, too!! I wish you both so much love and a life filled with tons of laughter (I’m sure Taylor will keep the laughs coming!)
