Wedding days like these only come so often! Not only are they a blend of the many reasons I adore photographing weddings, they’re made even more joyful by the fact that I personally know the bride and groom, their family and their guests! Rachael’s sister, Rebekah, is one of my BEST friends from college. The joy she brings to a conversation can brighten anyone’s worst day, and her sister Rachael is no different! I’ll bet that her smile alone was the very thing that enchanted L.A. from the beginning and her sweet personality and spunky spirit captured him forever!
Precious first looks filled their wedding day, and I was constantly on my toes to capture them all! From L.A.’s romantic first look with his bride to Rachael’s tearful first look with her dad to Rachael’s grandmother seeing her for the first time, we were all reaching for the tissues!!
The girls started the day drinking champagne and getting ready. As Rachael finished her makeup, I explored Proctor Farm for portrait locations. Talk about picturesque! Every turn of the head is a new backdrop just waiting to be captured. My little photographer heart was so happy!
And just a little photography side note, before she sent out her invitations, Rachael asked for my opinion on when they should have their ceremony! As a photographer, I so appreciated that gesture because it allowed me to plan out the BEST time for sunset portraits. This not only benefitted me by allowing me to plan for bride and groom portraits like I do engagement sessions, but now Rachael and LA are going to receive those lush, softly lit portraits they love! Win, win, WIN! I mean, a great wedding photographer can shoot in all lighting situations, but nothing beats that sunset glow!
