The Venue Wedding in Asheville, North Carolina // Laura Anne Watson

Atlanta + Coastal Georgia + The Southeast

let's be friends!

Jamie and Brian’s The Venue Wedding in Asheville, North Carolina took place on a perfect Spring day in June! With a forecast of rain, we were blessed to find only sunshine waiting for us outside.

I love visiting Asheville, North Carolina. Since it’s a close destination from Atlanta, Georgia (only a 3 hour drive), I’ve made many weekend trips to visit the local breweries, camp in the mountains, and of course, tour the Biltmore Estate. In fact, my assistant photographer and I planned a trip to the Biltmore the morning after this wedding before we headed home!

Asheville is the perfect city for a destination wedding. There are endless activities and amazing restaurants. For Jamie and Brian’s wedding day, we began at the Renaissance Asheville. The hotel is only a short walk to the Venue and Asheville’s downtown district. Unlike many hotels I’ve photographed, the suite at the Renaissance was filled with natural light. The windows overlooking downtown Asheville provided the best light for photography, as well as a great view! I promise they haven’t paid me to say that. It was just a really great hotel room!

Jamie and Brian shared a first look, and we captured portraits throughout downtown Asheville. They received many cheers from people on the street! And soon after, we made our way to The Venue for more portraits.

The Amazing Vendor Team

Bowman & Clark, an event design duo based out of Atlanta, planned the wedding to perfection. Jamie and Brian stood under a beautiful chuppah on the second floor of The Venue for their Jewish ceremony. After breaking the glass, they were greeted by their guests with a cocktail hour on the floor below and a gorgeous reception in the main event space!

Thank you to Bowman & Clark for their planning and floral design and all of Jamie & Brian’s amazing vendors:  Cakes by Gray, DJ Ben, Pop of Color, Paper Daisies Stationary, and Dow Oak Events.
