North Georgia Micro Wedding
Like many couples planning a big wedding during the Covid-19 pandemic, Sara and Joe were forced to alter their wedding plans to a micro wedding. Instead of a destination to Hawaii, they chose to celebrate with something smaller, safer and local. And may I be honest? I loved their new plans!
Sara and Joe discovered this private home in Jasper, Georgia and let the aesthetic of the North Georgia mountains guide their new plans. Honestly, Fall in North Georgia is tough to beat. The tones and colors of the Fall leaves and golden light became their inspiration. I love what Mary of Amy Osaba Events created for them!
Instead of a traditional wedding day, Sara and Joe’s consisted of two ceremonies. First, Sara and Joe celebrated Sara’s Vietnamese heritage with a Tea Ceremony. It began with an introduction of the groom and his family, followed by serving tea to their families. Tea ceremonies are so special to witness. Like other wedding ceremonies, we celebrate the bride and groom coming together in union. But the intention of giving thanks and honoring parents and elders in the their families is my favorite. I loved watching Sara and Joe share intimate moments of gratitude with their families.
Sara and Joe followed their Tea Ceremony with a traditional American ceremony out on the lawn. Sara’s father walked her down the aisle where Joe took her hand. And the ceremony was just as beautiful, intentional and sentimental as the first.
We finished the day with an intimate dinner outdoors, celebrating Sara and Joe’s marriage, their families coming together, and all the good to come.
