Caroline and Mike’s intimate, “family-only” wedding at Sotto Sotto
Featured on The Knot
While Caroline and Mike initially planned a large wedding with all of their friends and family, Covid changed their plans. As numbers rose, they faced the decision to postpone or trim down their guest list to family only, and they chose the latter. While their numbers were small, Caroline and Mike knew that they still wanted to celebrate big. With the help of Pearl & Sky Events, they took over local Atlanta restaurant, Sotto Sotto, and created a magical display of details. From their color palette of jewel tones to the explosion of flowers, cheer filled the small event space.
From The Knot: “We wanted our wedding design to be focused on a bright, cheery color palette with tons of flowers that made the entire space look like the most perfect explosion of wildflowers. The bright and colorful florals were the centerpiece of our entire wedding design. And, with a smaller-scale event in place, we were able to incorporate an enormous number of personalized details such as commissioned flower vessels that we will treasure forever, block-pressed (and hand-sewn) cloth napkins made just for us by one of our designers (Kyah Willcox), and a ketubah that features a gorgeous arrangement of flowers dried from our wedding chuppah,” says Caroline of the many curated details that were woven throughout the flower-filled, jewel-tone wedding. “The overall aesthetic of our space very much resembled how I’ve always imagined Mary’s garden at the end of ‘The Secret Garden,'” notes Caroline of the flower-packed look.”
At the root of their decisions, Caroline and Mike’s goal was to create an incredible experience for their family. Due to the tough circumstances, this was a rare occasion for them to be together. And Caroline and Mike wanted it to be celebrated with abandon. Their joy for each other radiated throughout the day! Their laughter is contagious and a joy to be around. It was a pleasure getting to be a part of this event with them!
