It was a joy capturing this newborn at home session at Ben and Sabena’s new home in Atlanta. Ben and Sabena just welcomed home baby Evelyn, and they couldn’t be more smitten. I photographed Ben and Sabena’s wedding in the winter of 2018, so I love this full circle moment. Expanding my work into maternity, newborn, and family over the past few months has allowed me to grow with my clients. I love being able to look back on all the milestones we’ve experienced together. It’s one of the most rewarding things about this profession.

Their session was wonderful, and I loved that their home featured plenty of natural light and open spaces – these are both key for at home sessions. The neutral tones throughout their home came to life beautifully on film and were so fun to capture! One of the best parts about at home sessions is witnessing the comfort clients feel in front of the lens. There’s something about being within the walls of their own home that allows clients to act natural and calm. Not to mention, being able to incorporate the special items like the chair that holds them to soothe the 2AM tears, or the favorite swaddle. Seeing Ben and Sabena’s interactions with baby Evelyn was heartwarming, and I’m happy we were able to include their family dog, Canon, in some photos, too. Ben and Sabena, thank you for allowing me to capture Evelyn’s newborn at home session for you. I loved every minute of it!
