Roxy and Ben’s wedding at Rockwood Lodge in Highlands, North Carolina was a day to remember. As a Highlands wedding photographer, I’m always thrilled to capture weddings in such breathtaking locations. Rockwood Lodge, surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains on three sides, provided a stunning backdrop for their special day.
Roxy, a ballerina with the St. Louis Ballet, brought grace to every moment. The ceremony took place at an overlook with guests seated in a curved seating arrangement, offering incredible views of the mountains. It was a cool, breezy evening for June, adding a refreshing touch to the celebration.
The venue itself, a beautiful stone home with a lodge aesthetic, created a cozy atmosphere. The tented reception that followed was warm and inviting, while the florals added to the charm using palette of pinks, blues, and oranges, all anchored by earthy greens.
One of the highlights of the evening was the wedding cake by Lush Cakery. The impressionist, hand-decorated buttercream cake mirrored the floral palette perfectly. It was a true work of art that added a sweet touch to the celebration.
Roxy and Ben’s Rockwood Lodge wedding was a beautiful blend of natural beauty and artistic details. The setting, the flowers, and the cake all came together to create a memorable day for everyone involved.
