Tybee Island Engagement Session

“I’m visualizing beach barefoot vibes with a linen or maxi dress, and just letting Lucy [their dog] be her wild self.” Those were Nicole’s words to me as we began planning their engagement session. From there, I knew that their session would be an incredible time to play with a more fine art photography look – capturing movement and light on film.

North Beach was the perfect location for their Tybee Island engagement session. We met at sunrise, and almost immediately, a surprise raincloud let loose on us! With nowhere to go, we embraced the short rainfall and decided to go for it. Nicole and Rob played with Lucy as she chased seagulls on the sand, and I simply followed. We ran together on the sand, not worrying for once about dirty hems or windy hair. Nicole and Rob fully embraced a morning on the beach with Lucy with grace.

Nicole wore two dresses. One simple two-piece crop top and skirt that fit perfectly with the scenery. Her second dress featured ties at her shoulders. I loved how both dresses brought movement to each photo. Rob matched Nicole’s look with simple linen shirts that kept the overall aesthetic neutral, beach-y and incredibly dreamy.

I can’t wait to be back in the low-country with these two next Spring for their wedding at the Oldfield 1732 in Bluffton, South Carolina.
