This session is extra special to me for several reasons. Ever since becoming a photographer, I’ve kept my eye on Hills & Dales Estate. The architecture is breathtaking, and the gardens are inspirational. Owned by The Callaway family, it’s one of the oldest historic homes in the United States.
Since I knew that I wanted to photograph a wedding here someday, I reached out to the couple I love to capture: my sister, Rachel, and her husband, Jeremy. They were the first couple to ever jump in front of my camera YEARS ago. And as I grow my business, they consistently support me by being my test models!
Coincidentally, I was aching for a session at Hills & Dales Estate right around their anniversary! Seems like a perfect solution, right? They need to document their amazing marriage, and I wanted to practice film! So they stepped up to the plate, and we had fun walking through the greenhouse and gardens.
Now, I have to give Jeremy a personal shout out. While Rachel looked gorgeous in her blue dress (she’s stunning in anything, really), Jeremy was a trooper in pants and a sharp coat. We chose a Spring date in early May, however in true Georgia fashion, the temperature was over 80 degrees! Jeremy did not let that stop him from having a good time. And I’m so thankful he and Rachel continue to support me in this way.
These two are so supportive, encouraging and kind. They’re the best people I know. Watching them continue to love each other and work together as a team breathes inspiration to my marriage with Garrett, and I’m so thankful that we have them in our lives. If these portraits brought even the smallest ray of sunshine into their anniversary, then I’m a happy camper!
